So you’ve been to a climbing wall, worn the tight shoes, pulled on the plastic holds and you still want more?

Sounds like you’re ready to rock

During the course you’ll gain the experience needed to safely take your first steps in the world of outdoor rock climbing.

Example of the topics covered :

• Using a guidebook to select routes and interpret grades
• Identifying l natural features of the rock such as cracks, grooves, ribs as you climb to the top.
• Communication skills to climb safely on a rope
• Basic knots and belay techniques
• Fundamental movement skills

You’ve climbed outside with friends or been on our ready to rock course before.

Now you’re ready to be a rockstar

During the course you will continue to build on your current skills and gain further independence.

Example of the topics covered :

• Understanding of technical equipment and skills to facilitate outdoor climbing
• Further develop lead belay techniques and following on routes.
• Building anchors for use with a top-rope system

This course will allow you to become a fully independent rock climber without the need to ever lead climb.
